About Friends of Chabad of Georgia

Friends of Chabad of Georgia (Community Resources of Sandy Springs Anash, Inc.) is a volunteer-powered nonprofit rooted in Sandy Springs, Georgia. We were founded in 2022, inspired by the influx of new families and a growing need for meaningful, local support. Our mission is to ensure that no one in our community faces hardship alone.

We provide direct financial assistance to individuals and families, whether it’s help with rent, groceries, utilities, or support during a personal crisis. Many of our recipients turn to us around the holidays or during emergencies, and we respond with compassion, dignity, and respect for their privacy.

Every dollar raised goes directly to helping our neighbors, aside from minimal costs like credit card processing, fundraising platform fees, bookkeeping, and annual tax filing. Our organization has no paid staff—just dedicated volunteers who believe in supporting others.

Our directors are Reb Zalman Bernstein, Reb Mendel Chazanow, and Rabbi Yonatan Hambourger. Requests for assistance are carefully reviewed by our allocation and distribution committee: Rabbi Ari Sollish, Mrs. Arlene Shapiro, Reb Zalman Bernstein, and Rabbi Yonatan Hambourger.

We’re building a stronger, more caring Sandy Springs—one act of kindness at a time. If you’d like to be part of this effort, your support truly makes a difference in the lives of those around you.
